Designed by an architect, this large renovation/addition required the demolition of the entire interior and removal of about 40% of the structure to accomodate a completely new interior and a 1000 sq. ft. addition. All windows, exterior/interior finishes and landscaping were new.
The challenges were to keep parts of the old Whistler cabin intact for sentimental and budget considerations while building the new additions. A lighting and general electrical plan had to be developed and installed, as did an efficient heating and cooling system. Fireplace, tile work, railings and cabinetry as well as general finishing had to reflect the new addition design work. The completed job blended old and new work with aesthetic appeal to the great satisfaction of the client.
